MY PUBLISHING JOURNEY

Early 2000s

I began writing N*sync fanfiction and epic fantasy similar to LOTR.

2016

I self-published my first book on Amazon KDP. That book was ELEMENTAL SECRETS.

Early 2020s

I took a break from writing and publishing in order to focus on my mental and emotional health. (I highly recommend self-work!)

Late 2000s

I started writing vampire romance and completed my first ever novel: THE NIGHTLY DEEDS OF SEBASTIAN LAVISH (never published).

2018

I contributed to an anthology entitled ONCE UPON A REBEL FAIRYTALE which hit #63 on the USA Today Bestseller chart on November 1st. My book was A CROWN OF BLOOD AND ASHES.

Mid 2020s

I began the process of querying literary agents.

Late 2000s

I studied Creative writing and Poetry in high school & college (but I dropped out due to depression and anxiety)

2020

I wrote my first co-written book series with Ann Denton. The books were FAE CAPTIVE and FAE UNCHAINED.

THE GENRES

Here is a breakdown of what you can expect from each genre I write in.

NEW ADULT

MAIN GENRE

A genre of fiction with protagonists in the 18-30 age range. NA tends to focus on themes such as: leaving home, developing sexuality, choosing careers, beginning college, starting families, financial independence, loss of innocence, fear of failure, and friendships post-high school.

It is typically considered a mixture of the YA and ADULT genres.YA themes I tend to incorporate: family life, friendship, relationships, sexual interest, identity, working through problems, and learning to be responsible.

ADULT themes I tend to incorporate: the emotional development of a relationship, graphic sex scenes, multiple sex scenes, graphic violence, existential musings, and family dynamics.

The "Band of Brothers" trope is a group of men who are supportive of each other, but also tease and taunt each other. A group of people (usually male) dedicated and loyal to each other due to the trying circumstances they have faced together.
